Assistant in Electrical Engineering Department
Research opportunity at UT-Tyler for graduate students interested in pursuing the Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE)
The Electrical Engineering Department is inviting applications from motivated graduate students both on and off campus who have appropriate background and interest in doing research in the relatively new area of organic electronic devices. The student will be expected to be enrolled in the thesis-based 2-year MSEE program. This position will start Sept 1, 2007 and continue for one academic year. Preferred background for this work include a) BSEE degree, b) background in semiconductor devices with some experience in modeling and simulation c) over 1100 score on combined (quantitative and verbal) GRE and d) able to meet admission conditions[*] specified by the graduate school at the University of Texas at Tyler. We will consider a student with a BS in physics, computer science or chemistry if that student’s background includes electron device modeling. The 12 month position is a half time position (19.5 hours/week) and would pay in accordance with qualifications. The student will be expected to perform his/her duties for the research project and progress towards completing the MSEE within a two year window. The position will be renewable for a second year pending performance evaluation at end of the first year. Review of applications will begin August 10, 2007 and continue until position is filled.
