Miscellaneous
Contained on this page are links and ideas for use of the OMAP platform.
| Direct Digital Synthesis | With the advent of faster processing technologies, direct digital synthesis (DDS) is a way to generate signals that would normally require more complicated analog schemes. DDS can be useful in software radios and cell phones as a economical way produce modulated signals. |
| MP3 encoder/decoder | Mpeg Layer III (MP3) is now a common file type for generating and transmitting high quality and highly compressed audio files. OMAP processors are typically used in mobile applications such as cell phones and PDAs. The limited storage of these devices means compressing audio that may need to be stored for an indefinite amount of time. |
| Device Drivers | The OSK platform provides plenty of opportunity to implement device drivers (USB, ethernet, audio, etc.). For information on designing device drivers for Linux refer to Linux Device Drivers by Corbet, Rubini, and Kroah-Hartman or just search the internet. |
